Extra Extra-Life Drawings

Aw yeah, more life-drawing over the summer, yay!  I've been going to the weekly life drawing sessions on Wednesday evenings at school, and it's good for getting not too rusty.  I think I'm finally adding form to my drawings, but that, of course, is debatable.  And what else?  Oh, I'm getting a bit messy with too many lines.  Gotta cut down on those.  I blame my less than an inch long short piece(s) of conte, haha!  I got a new stick; we'll see how next week goes.

I must say I'm enjoying life drawing again without the stress of all the school work at the same time.  I think it reflects a bit in the drawings itself (once again, that's debatable), so yay!  Some of the following drawings are from the last weeks of school, but most of them are from the summer, which, by the way, is flying by!

Flygon, Yay!

Guess who didn't feel like working on this any longer?  That's right.

Me.

Anyway, not that I don't like it.  I just don't love it.  That's what you get though, for not pre-planning a painting and just mindlessly adding random things here and there (although no Pokémon painting is complete without a poké ball).  Anyway, I kind of went more into detail on that shiny Flygon, although even that is unfinished.  Whatever, close enough.  I'd rather work on a painting that is more thought out (a.ka. pre-thumbnailed).

Sketchbook Stories, 8

So, I want to post more this summer.  How am I doing so far?  Pretty bad.  Well, I'm working on a few small projects, but I'm by no means very far with them.  In the meantime, here's another sketchbook update, just to have something up here.  Experimental stuff, and a few of my scribbly notes, haha!

I will do dailies.  Soon!

^ Some early Mey-Me Monster redesign, and a few more:
Cafe Sketching?  Pretty dull.  Not a lot of people present in the Oakville mall; gotta go to Toronto more.
Random life-drawing page from da sketchbook.  I'm trying to do draw everything with one line.  It's interestingly difficult.
And a final random thing I drew at Lake Ontario, a couple of weeks ago.  Trying something different :)

Narnia Colour Practice

Hey, so I copied this Narnia screenshot, but instead of focusing on finishing the image and making it look pretty, I just tried to analyze the colours and copy those (without zooming in, haha).  The only thing I really blended (juuust a little) was the wave in the background, because... well, without blending it looked very flat.  Anyway, just a practice painting, but I hope you like it :)

And if you still haven't seen Narnia 3, you totally should.

Blog Update!

So I updated the appearance of my blog!  I hope you like it, because it will probably be up for at least a year, or until I want something different again :)

So what have I been up to since school ended (like, three weeks ago)?  I've mostly been at home-home, preparing for my parents' 25th anniversary (yay, congrats mom & dad!), and I spent roughly 3.5 days back in Oakville to help out with the Animation Industry day.  All good and fun.  Now I'm back in Oakville and ready to learn... everything!  Time to study, draw, and... update a blog!  Yes, you'll probably (hopefully) see quite a few updates here on this blog.  Maybe I'll start doing dailies at some point, but I only have proper internet access at school, so I have yet to figure that one out.

Anyway, here's the new Mey-Me Monster.  The colouring took quite a bit longer than I thought it would, and I'm not even sure if I'm fully happy with it.  Oh well, I like the colours themselves, at least.  Have a great day, you awesome people!

Second Demo-Reel

So here's the demo-reel that I put together really quickly in one class at the end of second semester. I hope you like it, haha: Christmas-y music with a super weird buzzing sound at some point :s

The thing at the end was from before I did my final painting, but I don't think that comes as much of a surprise.
