Just some compiled drawings from the recent sketchbooks, because I finally started doing that!

February Thingies
I'm currently working on a little animation test, so I'm focusing on that a little more instead of sketching. Still, here's a select bunch of digital sketches from the last week or so.

Faces and Dragons
Some more compilations. A whole bunch of faces from the last couple of weeks and a page of dragons that I drew over the Christmas break while watching behind-the-scenes videos about Smaug. That was a long sentence.
Also, check out Alan Stewart's Instagram. I'm sure some of these were inspired by his amazing dragon drawings from a while ago.

A Little Bit of Everything
Here's a whole bunch of stuff from the online course, life drawing and sketchbook. I can't really think of what else to describe this with. So there :)

Hyde Does a Twirl
So now Hyde turns! It was a rather tricky one to rotate while keeping it simple, but this was my attempt. Stephen made a few suggestions that I did before uploading these, so here is Hyde, Finnish folklore style.

Ember Process 1
I've been meaning to make these (upcoming) posts for a while now. I have finally started compiling things together for uploading. Here's the first of multiple posts in which I put together a whole bunch of (pre-) production work from my fourth year film project at Sheridan.
Let's start with the concept art and pitch package. This is well over a year old now. It was basically the thing I put together to pitch the idea to my mentor group. It has some very early versions of Dart and Juffer's designs. Originally Dart was a bit older and more serious than what he ended up being.
Here's a preliminary colour concept of the main environment. Many people said it looked a little bit too ominous, so the final colours became a bit more saturated and leaned a bit more towards a warmer yellow/green hue.
Here's the finalized colour script of the whole film. There's something really fun about throwing solid colours down with a hard round brush on one layer. It makes you work with less detail and gets you to focus more on the overall colour scheme.

I Have Compiled
I, for once, have compiled drawings from the last little while on separate pages. Work is busy and I'm currently also doing an online course, so time do personal work is rather limited. Still, here are some sketchbook drawings, some faces (also from the sketchbook), and some life drawings (yet again, originating from that exact same sketchbook).

More Dogs
This whole Inktober thing just isn't doing it for me. I keep starting with other drawings. I did, however start inking a giraffe, only to find out that my pen was not working well on the paper.
Typical.
Anyway, I've been drawing so many dogs the last couple of months. I don't really know why. Here's a few more!

I Like Stripes
I've been rather busy lately, but here are a bunch of raccoon drawings.
And I've officially watched all six Star Wars movies! I'm prepared for December now. Fan art to possibly follow :)

Hands and Sleeves
So I did a whole bunch more hand drawings over the last week. And more fabric too! So here's a giant compilation of exactly that: hands and fabric. That's all the text I can come up with.
One day I'll post something that's not a compilation.

Fabric
Yup, I'm going to throw a whole bunch of faces into this post today (again). They are mainly drawings that I tried to do for Susan from the Pevensie kids. Other than that, there's some Mr. Tumnus concepts in there.
I'm currently doing a decent amount of drapery studying as that was kind of necessary. Adding folds is such a nice way of designing clothing, yet I always keeping my clothing straight and foldless. Mainly because I'm not familiar with how to draw that. High time to change that, so here's a drapery practice sketchbook page and some hands.

Sketchbook Stories, 11
It's been forever since I've done a sketchbook post, so here's another one of those. It's rather large too, because I have a whole bunch of random images from the past 2.5 months or so. I've been obsessed with Milt Kahl hands lately, so I've studied and drawn a whole bunch of those. Besides that, there's a lot of layout studies here too. All of those are Western related, so lots of horses, cowboys and stuff like that.
Another thing; I'm starting to put a little 'water-mark' stamp thing on my images from now on. Maybe even a full-out water-mark at some point, but I'll try this for now. Recently people have been telling me to do this, and recent talks at school have lead me to this. It's basically just to claim that the work is mine, in case it gets posted somewhere else without me knowing about it. Hopefully it doesn't look silly.
Alright, huge sketchbook dump:
