Gouachy Gouachy Gouach!

Hellooooooow!!!  So I did another gouache painting!  The first assignment of the school year required us to do a painting in any traditional medium, and since I have come to like gouache over the last year, that's what I stuck with for this project.  So yeah, the project was an exterior study.  I tried implementing eye-direction in this piece, so I hope it worked!  Hope you like it :)

Process work, yay!

  2. Ooo a scene in the twilight of the night where a little creature of some type scurries and treads carefully to some destination maybe on a dangerous quest or possibly home.
Yeah gouache is fun but I can't seem to ever spell it correctly. :(
Anyways a very nice piece of background concept. It definitely gets the mood across.

As for the previous animation with the water, the sack of flour and the boat, the water is adequate for your assignment. I mean it looks like splashing water but yeah it does animate like it was a toy in a tub. The water reminds me of something you would see in the Steam boat Willy short. But that’s not a bad thing.
The water probably should have dissipated/animated a bit more slower. I think watching a water fountain and the way large and small objects fall in to the water might help, incase you are in a similar situation in the future like your animation reel your going to make in your last year for samples. But none the less it does the job.

    Thanks for sharing. :)

    1. Thanks for the advice! And I like how you got a little scene in your head from the painting, haha!
