Cats and Other Beautiful Beasties!

So for the past week I've been studying a bit more animal anatomy, but mainly that of the cat family.  I am by no means an expert, but I must say that it did help me quite a bit at the zoo yesterday.  It was a lot of fun, as was the first week of school!  I'm super excited for this year: everything about it is just... magical, haha!

The first image is a compilation of a whole bunch of animal studies, and the second image is all zoo drawings.  Some of the scans turned out really light, so in order to darken the lines a bit, a few artifacts were made visible.  Nothing too bad though; I hope it doesn't bother anyone.

Yay, second year!

  1. Got to love all your creatures. The big cats got their tudes! *attitudes* You really were the big cats. I can see you really were having fun playing. Oh and I see you even tried out some nice big cat character designs. Great stuff.
Can't wait to see if you can get a cat to lie on its back with its feet in the air like my kitty does sometimes or chomping on a chunk of meat. But then those are hard to get since they only feed those guys at the end of the day or just after opening for the day.
Boy, I bet your instructor loves you. Hehe!

Anyways oh and that chameleon is superb. Ha spelt it correctly. Yay me! Love those guys. Such cool eye and tongue functions. and the crazy feet, Oh and the birds. Love them. :D

Do they still have that palm cockatoo there?
Its basically a large black cockatoo with a bit of red on its face. That guy was cool. I wonder if they moved him?

    1. Oh man, getting a cat too lie on its back is gonna be hard to draw, haha! I'll try someday :)

I Googled what a palm cockatoo looks like, and I must say I haven't seen it at the zoo before. Then again; I'm not super familiar with the birds at the zoo, so I'll go on the lookout for them. I'll let you know if I spot it.

And thanks for liking it :)
