Drawing in the Mall... With a Coffee!

Yup, did some more cafe sketching!  Here's a compilation of some of the nicer ones, as well as some sketchbook work.  I was trying to sell my scanner at a yard sale recently, as I found it did a poor job at scanning my pencil lines all the time.  Nobody bought it, so I brought it back home, where I discovered a simple setting to make the scanning quality better.  Lucky me!

Annnnnnd... I got a Tumblr!  Didn't want to do it for the longest time, but I finally gave in.  I'll definitely keep posting here, as I still consider this to be my main blog.  Tumblr will probably get the same posts, so nothing exclusive there.  The site can be found here :)

Goodbye Sheridan

Yes, I'm officially done school now.

Uuuh....

That's kind of scary, yet exciting at the same time.  I've spent six years in this "safe zone".  The last couple of weeks (well, months) have been crazy, to say the least.  I've been doing pretty much nothing but working on my film, and I'm happy to say it has officially been completed.  It was definitely fun building it up from concept to final and I've learned a huge amount of things along the way.

Since the film won't be available to view online just yet, here's a screenshot of it:

I didn't post anything last month due to the crazy amount of work that needed to be done, so I'll make sure to post something else soon to make up for it.  Until then, I'll be catching up on some sleep!

A Coloured Tree Root

So my film's main colour palette is...

Wait for it...

Blue and yellow.

Well, was that ever a surprise!  They say that you should do something you like for your fourth year film, so using my favourite colour palette was a no-brainer.  The blue colours for the film are a bit warmer than what I would use normally though: they're ever-so-slightly closer to green.  Anyway, I posted an image of a tree root last October.  Here's that same tree root, although this is the painted version.

And while we're talking about colour, here's one of my colour script panels that I did last semester.  Figured this one doesn't give away too much of the story :)
