Entrance to Narnia... In Gouache!

For some reason I did this painting much faster than usual; I'm not complaining :)

Anyway, for the novel interior painting I, of course, chose a room description of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.  It's the spare room!  But... how do you make a composition with a room that is described as empty save for a wardrobe and a dead blue bottle fly?  Rafters, yay!  Took me several thumbnails to come up with that one, haha!  Anyway, I hope you like it.  Hopefully my next painting won't involve anything glowing for once :)

The final painting is a different colour from the colour study mainly because of the print-out I was working from.  I kind of like the look of both.
