Fingers and Toes

Peoples, here's my hand and foot drawings for life drawing class.  Putting them all together and rendering them kept me up until the late hours of the night (A.K.A. "Morning"), but that's okaaay ;)

I'm happy with how they turned out.  I find that drawings always turn out differently than how you invision them intitially, but not necessarily in a bad way.

By the way, the titlepage is based off of true events.

Do You Like Eggs?

Our second painting assignment was to paint a spherical object using a monochromatic colour scheme (after doing thumbnails, of course).  My first go at it failed quite sadly: I knew Alizaron Crimson was going to give me troubles, since it's such a "thin" colour.  I ruined it, however, by adding a splotch of darkness that messed the whole thing up.  It's quite obvious.  Anyway, I went back to good old blue for my second try, and that turned out much better.

I Love Layout!

I am starting to love layout class more and more!  This post has the assignment we worked on for a couple of weeks now.  I don't have all my conceptual process art up yet.  I think it's nice to show as well, so I'll probably add it to this post soon.

We didn't have to colour the image, but I really, really felt like it :)  Good practice!

Here's more of my conceptual process.  Definitely not all of it, but I figured these would be nice to show here.  Some of it was actually quite unnecessary for me to do for this assignment, but hey, I learned something from it :)

The Bouncing Ball, Bowling Ball and Balloon.

These were the first animations I was required to do for my Animation class.  I'm quite sure it took me well over thirty hours to do these altogether, because it required a lot of timing and spacing to be determined (lots of math!).  I'm happy with how it all turned out.



That bottom-right line in the room is bugging me because of its anti-perspective angle.  Oh well :)

"Chromaticity"

For our painting class we were required to paint three similar paintings indicating some sense of depth.  The first one was meant to be a flat painting done in black and white (achromatic).  The second painting was also done in black and white, but this time gradients (and a possible light source) were added.  The final painting was the same as the second, but with a single colour added (monochromatic).

Painting with gouache takes a bit of getting used to.  Especially blending colours is rather difficult to achieve, I think.  It probably just takes practice :)  Here's my paintings, yay!
